We are a friendly and inclusive hockey club with two competitive women’s teams, and a mixed adult social team. Whether you are an experienced hockey player, are returning after a break or have never picked up a stick before, we welcome all new players!
We train twice a week during the season and league matches are played on a Saturday. Our women’s training is held on a Wednesday evening from 7pm-8pm.
As well as hockey we are a very social club enjoying various nights out and activities throughout the year.
We have a wonderful team of volunteers who keep the club going: from scheduling matches and booking pitches, to organising teas and social events – we couldn’t do it without them!
The formal side of our Club is run by an elected committee who meet on a regular basis and we also hold an Annual General Meeting to which all members are invited. Our constitution and other Club documents are available on our secure Club Spond account.
We are affiliated to England Hockey and play in the South East Area (Martlets).
Well done to the 1s for getting a draw, still no loses thus far for the season! It was definitely a hard game with no subs but everyone put immense effort in! Shoutout to Tash and Nat for getting MOM for persistent grafting and passing!! Ladies 2s put in a huge performance of strong effort and team spirit, led by our captain Delphine. Such a shame to end up being a goal less game, hoping for more outcomes next week. Onto the next 🤩 🏑 #hockey #sdhc #draw
Today’s matches are set! Good luck South Downs. 🤞🏑
Congratulations to our first team on winning 4-2 against Midsussex!!
The team put in a hard shift, with some beautiful goals from Alana, Becca, Delphine and Nat 🤩
Some new faces on the team made a great impression! 2/2 wins so far – an amazing start to the season 👏🏻 #hockey #sdhc #win
