We are a friendly and inclusive hockey club with three competitive women’s teams, and a junior development mixed team, and a mixed adult social team. Whether you are an experienced hockey player, are returning after a break or have never picked up a stick before, we welcome all new players!
We train once a week during the season and league matches are played on a Saturday. Our women’s training is held on a Wednesday evening from 7.00-8.30pm and our mixed junior training (for 10-16 years olds) is held on a Sunday morning from 9.30-11am.
Our mixed community team meet to play informally on a Friday evening. Known as ‘The Farmers’ they occasionally play friendly games with other local teams on Sunday mornings.
As well as hockey we are a very social club enjoying various nights out and activities, including charity fundraising events, throughout the year. We are committed to supporting our local community and work with Steyning Grammar School to deliver their after-school hockey club.
We have a wonderful team of volunteers who keep the club going: from scheduling matches and booking pitches, to organising teas and social events – we couldn’t do it without them!
The formal side of our Club is run by an elected committee who meet on a regular basis and we also hold an Annual General Meeting to which all members are invited. Our constitution and other Club documents are available on our secure Club Spond account.
We are affiliated to England Hockey and play in the South East Area (Martlets).
